  • Yes, with restrictions. We can fill any valid prescription from any optometrist. We’re happy to fill any outside frame(s) provided they pass our quality inspection. However, Perception is not responsible for any damages incurred should something happen to them while being processed at our lab, as the frame is not ours nor subject to our warranties.

  • Average timeframe for lens orders to come back are 10-14 business days. Adding tints, polarization, or more specialized lens orders needs may increase this window.

  • Masks are optional. We want you to feel safe at here and our team will mask-up if you request us to. As a medical facility, we adhere to MA State guidelines, which recently (spring 2023) lifted masking mandates. However, patients who are ill/symptomatic, please continue to a wear a mask (provided if needed.)

  • Dealing with insurance plans is confusing. Vision plans such as EyeMed, VSP, Spectera etc are what many patients believe to be an insurance plan but are actually discount plans. Many of the vision plans own major optical stores such as Lenscrafters or Visionworks who hope patients will visit their stores to apply the vision plan benefits. In short, patients are paying the same company twice through the cost of your membership plan + eyewear purchase. Furthermore, vision plans make patients think they are limited to what their network offers.

As an independent optical boutique we have attempted to become in-network with these discounted membership plans to grow our network but were denied due to "over saturation." These major vision plans harm independents who cannot compete with major corporations who funnel their customers to pay into their system (called vertical integration).

  • Great question and let’s be honest - it’s one of the most important questions to ask because your eyes are an investment. We are competitive with our area and offer far superior lens and frame quality.

  • We want you to be happy in your Perception Optical made glasses and go the extra mile to ensure that.
